Mr. Geoffrey Omedo is a development specialist with over 10 years of experience in issues of governance, leadership, sustainable development, environmental planning and management, climate change, knowledge management and policy advocacy in Africa.
He holds a Master of Arts degree in Environmental Planning and Management (2010) from the University of Nairobi’s School of Geography and Environmental Studies; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology (2006) from the University of Nairobi’s College of Biological and Physical Sciences. Mr. Omedo is currently finalizing a PhD in Environmental Law from the University of Nairobi’s Centre of Advanced Studies in Environmental Law and Policy (CASELAP).
Mr. Omedo has had over 10 years work experience within the UN system, and is currently coordinating a joint UN Project managed by UNDP and bringing together 5 UN Agencies (UNEP, UNHABITAT, UNESCO, ILO and UNDP) to help Kenya adopt low emission carbon strategies geared towards improving resilience and reducing poverty resulting from the harmful impacts of climate change.
Mr. Omedo joined the UNSACCO Board of Directors on 19th March, 2016 and has served as the UNSACCO Board Chair from 10th June, 2016 to date.
